A heaven for kids. Thousands of books. Best place to decrease screen time and inculcate reading habits. I visit this every month with my 11 years old son. Here three types of membership is offered. With these you can borrow two books, four books or eight books for one month. It is situated outside ITO metro station. I was unaware of this gem in Delhi. Once I was going Bal Bhawan, then I noticed this library. This is not much crowded. Peaceful library. Unfortunately most parents have provided smart phones to thir kids instead of books. Parents must bring their kids here.
Dr. B. C. Roy Children Library has a wonderful and rare collection of books for all the age groups of children. The library is a neat & clean and a very peaceful place to spending good time with books. The staff is polite, professional and helpful. Sometimes the library also organizes workshop for children during summer break as well.
It was the most integral part of my childhood. My mother made me and my brother members of this library at a very young age. We became voracious readers and we became fluent in English thanks to the books. We fell in love with reading because of the amazing library and even now, when we are almost 3 decades old, our love for books has remained the same. The library will always hold a special place in our hearts and I would recommend every parent to get their child a membership of the library. This will help in their overall development and would prove to be a thriving learning environment for the child.
