Please increase the number of hours for the library to open. 10:00-16:45 is really less time. Newspaper is also not available. Hope the staff will look into these issues. Besides these drawbacks, infrastructure is great.
I was here at 18:45 hr for taking my cheque which is the return of deposits i gave at the time of membership. In the library there was a lady sitting behind the desk,i asked her to give the cheque. She told me the the person who sits on the desk is absent today.I told her i talked to him and he asked me to go and take the cheque.I asked her to please confirm from him.But then she denied. She told me to come tomorrow as she is busy doing some other work but reality is she was sitting behind the desk waiting for the clock to be at 19:00 hr.I told her as 15 min is still left, she can still give cheque as i am going out of the town and will not return. But she deny. After that i went outside and at the reception i asked the person to give complaint register. He asked me what happened and i told him everything that happened inside the room. Then he went inside and talked to the lady.He again came back and told me there ia no complaint register as it was never made. Now there was nothing which i can do.So i went to delhi public library website and started to search for the place where i can complain about the situation. Then i find the phone number and email id of in charge delhi public library east patel nagar Sh R K Meena but he didn't received the call.I tried again but didn't get any reply.Time was still before 19:00 hr which is official closing timing for public. Then i emailed him at his official email id.I am not hoping to get back from him.I didn't have a choice and don't know where to complain so put up here.Any of you have a right platform then please do something about these indian government offices.I am attaching some of the document.
Though I failed to get books of my desire, still the library has a good collection of books in various disciplines. Though I failed to get seat in the reading room, still there is good study rooms, both ac and non-ac. For finding a good book you at least have proper information about the availability in the library. For getting seat in ac study room you need to arrive before the time of opening of study room as soon it gets packed.
