A Rich Treasure of Knowledge at the Heart of DU" The Central Library of Delhi University is one of the best academic resources in the country. It holds a vast and diverse collection of books, journals, research papers, manuscripts, and digital resources across multiple disciplines — from law and science to humanities and social sciences. The environment is quiet, academic, and perfect for serious study. The reading halls are spacious, well-lit, and air-conditioned. The library also offers Wi-Fi access, digital catalog search, and dedicated reading sections for postgraduate and research scholars. What I personally appreciated was the discipline and calm atmosphere — everyone comes here to focus, and it inspires you to do the same. The staff is professional and generally cooperative, and the book borrowing system is smooth with a valid DU library card. They also have a digitized section where students can access e-journals and scanned rare texts. The library plays a big role in supporting students who are preparing for UPSC, NET, judiciary, or higher research. However, seating during exam time can be a bit limited, so try to reach early. ✅ Tips: Carry your DU ID and library card. No loud conversation or mobile use inside. Check timings and holidays in advance. Bring your own water and basic stationery. A must-use facility for any DU student serious about academics. It’s not just a library — it’s a place of intellectual energy.
It's a wonderful place to study. The ambience is really nice. Outside the library, there's a huge park which gives a lot of refreshment. However, the number of seats in the library is less as compared to the number of students using it.
